4th Annual Dutch Oven Mountain Chili Cook Off
Saturday Feb. 20th
@ Rivers Edge Park, Trail Oregon
Rules:
1. No canned beans
2. You can soak your beans the day before
3. You must cook with briquettes only
4. All prep work must be done on site
5. Be ready to turn in your pot of Chili for the people's choice judging @ 12:30
voting closes at 1:00 then we will eat.
Bring your Dutch Ovens, Cooking Surfaces & Cooking utensils.....etc.
Cooks meeting at 8:30
Bring a Lawn Chair
There is water at the Park
Bring your own table service
There will be 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners
Please come & enjoy the day with us

Time: Cooking starts @ 9:00 a.m. & judging starts @ 1:00 p.m.
Rules:
1. No canned beans
2. You can soak your beans the night before

4. You must cook in a Dutch Oven with coals
5. You must provide your own coals and ingredients
6. No cooking on the ground
You will need to bring: $10.00 ENTRY FEE = 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners

La Pine's Frontier Day's Dutch Oven Cook Off July 1st 2012
The Ribs took 1st
Air Buns took 2nd
Serving to the public..... We took
People's Choice Award over all
Here is the recipe ...
Braised Short Ribs
3 lbs. Short Ribs
1 clove of garlic
1 small onion
2 cups canned tomatoes
1 tsp. paprika
1 ½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
Cut short ribs into
serving pieces; rub with cut clove of garlic.
Place in a 12” Dutch Oven; slice onion over top. Cover with water; and cook 2 hours. With 10 coals on the bottom and 20 coals on
top. Add new coals; 10 coals on the
bottom and 20 coals on top add tomatoes and seasoning. Cover and cook about 2 hours or until short
ribs are very tender and brown on top.
